Equipping the Church in Zambia
A Vision for Whole-Life Discipleship
Our faith must not be small. It must not be limited to Sundays, pulpits, or church walls.
We believe God is calling His church in Zambia to see all of life through the lens of Scripture:
Renewing minds with God’s truth.
Replacing inherited worldviews that conflict with the Gospel.
Mobilizing every generation to live as Christ’s ambassadors in every sphere of society.
This is more than attendance. It is a transformation of thinking, of living, of leading.
Our Biblical Mandate
The Word of God sets our direction:
“Whatever you do…do it in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Colossians 3:17).
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2).
“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord” (Psalm 78:4).
“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors” (2 Corinthians 5:20).
Every believer. Every generation. Every sphere of life.
The Challenge We Face
Zambia is rich in faith. Churches are full. Jesus is named.
But…
Many Christians continue to carry assumptions shaped by culture, family, society, or the wider world that have never been seriously examined in the light of Scripture.
Many Christians blend truth with error in syncretism.
Faith is often confined to “church life,” leaving work, politics, education, and family untouched because they have never considered how their faith speaks to life.
The next generation is sometimes left without whole-life discipleship because most church leaders do not know how to relate Christianity to the whole of life.
“Icikwanka bacimwena kumampalanya”
— You can see how a bird will fly from the way it flaps its wings.
If our thinking is not shaped by God’s truth, the direction of our lives will drift.
Our Approach
1. Renewing Minds
Teach the grand story of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration as the foundation for developing a biblical worldview.
Replace passive listening with biblical critical thinking.
Use Zambian proverbs, case studies, and cultural analysis to make truth tangible and foster a Christian African culture.
Example: A young teacher in Ndola begins to see her classroom as a place of mission — shaping future leaders with the wisdom of Christ.
2. Examining Inherited Worldviews Through Scripture
Identify cultural assumptions that clash with God’s truth, allowing Scripture to filter culture.
Open safe spaces for honest dialogue, whether at church facilities or other places.
Model redeemed cultural expressions in leadership, politics, the arts, and economics.
“Akali mwibala, katalala”
— What is in the field is not yours until you harvest it.
In the same way, cultural traditions must be tested by Scripture before they are embraced.
3. Mobilizing Every Generation
Equip elders, adults, youth, and children with age-appropriate tools without wholly separating intergenerational interaction.
Train leaders to mentor and multiply, by recognizing spiritual maturity.
Send believers as ambassadors into family, business, education, farming, and governance, showing how a biblical worldview is foundational for the totality of life.
Picture it: A grandmother under a mango tree sharing God’s Word with her grandchildren. A university student in Lusaka is wrestling with how to serve Christ in politics. Both are vital.
Strategic Priorities
Curriculum Development
Worldview courses, sermon series, small group guides.
Leader Formation
Training hubs, coaching, mentoring.
Community Engagement
Helping believers connect Gospel truth with everyday life and service.
Media & Resources
Radio, digital media, books, studies, and contextual teaching tools.
How We Measure Impact
We look for evidence that discipleship is producing real change:
Minds renewed — believers increasingly understand a biblical worldview and apply Scripture to everyday life.
Lives transformed — Christian conviction increasingly shapes work, family, leadership, relationships, and public life.
Culture increasingly aligned with Scripture — patterns of life, values, institutions, and community practices are gradually influenced by biblical truth, justice, integrity, human dignity, stewardship, and love of neighbor.
Generations engaged — younger believers are intentionally discipled, while mature Christians mentor those coming behind them.
The Call to Action
This vision calls for:
Leaders who model whole-life discipleship.
Churches willing to strengthen their teaching and mentoring.
Believers willing to allow Scripture to reform their thinking and reshape their lives.
Imagine Zambia…
Farmers who steward the land as a gift from God.
Politicians who understand leadership as service.
Families who pass down faith and wisdom, not simply possessions.
Teachers who see education as a calling.
Businesspeople who pursue integrity as part of Christian witness.
Artists who express truth, beauty, hope, and redemption.
A Zambia where faith touches every part of life.
A Zambia where Christians increasingly see the world through the lens of Scripture and live as faithful ambassadors of Jesus Christ.
